In order to ensure older voters and people with disabilities are able to cast their votes correctly, issues encountered during the 2000 presidential election were reported along with other impediments were examined. The authors required policymakers to think broadly about voter access with respect to transportation, polling places, voting equipment, and alternative voting methods, as well as review state provisions and practices.
