- Smartphone users make fewer mistakes in voting
Bryan Campbell and his colleagues at Rice University in Houston, Texas, designed an iPhone application for casting votes and tested their application against the traditional paper voting experience. On average, users took 90 seconds longer to cast their vote on the smartphone system; however, the application reduced the number of mistakes made in voting, among people familiar with smartphones. The authors concluded that they would be able to reduce the voting time by making minor adjustments to their application.
